Our Mission

At Heart Cry Preschool, we believe that each child is a unique individual that has been created in love by our Heavenly Father for a specific purpose. Our preschool program provides inclusive settings that recognize children’s varied abilities, interests, needs, and learning styles.

We believe children learn best through meaningful play.  Our play-based, child-centered program reflects the integration of physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, self-help and aesthetic areas for the total development of the child. Meaningful play encourages curiosity, discovery, and problem-solving which allows for individual growth and development of a positive self-image.

We recognize that parents are the child’s first teachers. Children learn best when parents are involved in their educational program. The primary bridge between home and school is the involvement of family and community.  We, therefore, seek to partner with parents in order to deliver the best quality of education.

No discounts are given for holidays, sickness or vacation days. Whether your child attends or not, our operating costs remain the same.

Our Curriculum

Our curriculum is theme related and based on a whole language approach to learning.  Every month there is a new theme which will be used to increase fine motor, sensory, math, social, adaptive and language development skills.

Every week we will explore a new letter, number, color, and shape.
We will be using Zoo Phonics for our letters and sounds.

The Bible is integrated into every aspect of the curriculum.  Your child will not only learn about animals but that God created them.  They will not only learn how to be patient but that we have a loving and patient God.  These values permeate all your child learns both through lessons and by example.

Our Teachers

Tiffany Grimm


Tiffany Grimm has been working in the field of education for the past 25 years. She has a degree in early childhood/special education and has worked in a variety of different environments. While living in Maryland, Tiffany worked at a special needs center with preschoolers just outside of Washington, D.C.. She enjoyed providing education, parent support, screenings, and assessments for her students and the surrounding community. She also worked in Florida as a language impaired kindergarten teacher and received the Parent Choice Award for the county. In addition, Tiffany home-schooled her own two boys for several years. She most recently worked at a private Christian school in the area where she taught kindergarten through 2nd grade and worked in administration.

Shea Hastie

Co-Director and Business Manager

Shea Hastie is an aide and business manager of Heart Cry Preschool. She graduated in 2021 from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She also is an Administrative Assistant for Heart Cry Church. She has a heart for children and the next generation of Christian education.

Melissa Serna

Preschool Teacher

Melissa Serna has worked in the field of education and child development for over 20 years. Her experience ranges from Montessori to public school systems to private Christian instruction. Her specialty is early childhood development and elementary age groups. Melissa holds a bachelor’s degree from Arizona State University in Family Resources and Human Development, with an emphasis on early childhood development. She has been married to her husband John for 27 years and was a military wife in their early years together at Luke Air Force Base. She and John have two daughters, ages 21 and 19, who are both students at Arizona State University.

Brittainey Allen

Preschool Teacher

Brittainey Allen is the worship leader for Desert Springs Church (Gilbert Campus). She graduated in 2016 from Southwestern Assemblies of God University with a bachelor's degree in Psychology and an associates in Bible. She has a passion for working alongside children and their families, creating a fun and safe environment for all. As a wife and mom of two littles ones, she understands the importance of family and wanting the very best for your loved ones. Her desire for her students is to initiate an excitement for learning both academically and biblically.

Nancy Grimm

Preschool Teacher

Nancy Grimm has worked in the field of education for the last 24 years. Before
moving to Arizona, she worked in the public school system in the state of Illinois
where she holds an Associates degree. She worked in early childhood
development as well as with special needs children. She was a member of
AmeriCorps and also served as a volunteer reading coach for first graders. The last
10 years she taught Pre-K and an accelerated Pre-K program at a private
preschool in Arizona. In 2020, she was featured as an outstanding teacher in the
Ocotillo Living Magazine.
